Mrs. Mary Lee Brayfield, age 88, of Robinson, Illinois, and formerly of Casey, IL, passed away peacefully at 6:25 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Harrison's at the Crossing in Terre Haute, following several months of declining health.
Born on March 1, 1936, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Freely Edward Woll and Sylvia (Ripley) Woll, Mary was a woman of strength, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. She married the love of her life, Richard L. Brayfield, on January 26, 1957, and he survives.
Mary attended high school in Goode Township, Franklin County, Sesser, Illinois, where she was voted Queen of the Penny Carnival during her freshman year. She dedicated her life to caring for others as a homemaker, a devoted Illinois State Trooper's wife, a funeral Director's wife, and a loving mother. She also found fulfillment as an Avon representative, the owner and operator of a ceramic shop in her home, and as the manager of the concession stand at the Casey Softbal
